Having recently joined UST as a Sales and Marketing Assistant, Shannen is thrilled about helping nonprofits save money so that they can continue to make a difference in people’s lives.
Her enthusiasm and passion for helping people on a personal level makes her an incredible fit for the UST team. Having volunteered with a wide variety of organizations, including the Soldier’s Angels Network, the Children’s Affected by Aids Foundation Dream Halloween and the Rescue Mission, Shannen explains, “I’m not bias to any one cause but rather enjoy participating anywhere I can. I also think it’s important that my kids see how many people are actually in need and how many different ways there are to help.”
Outside of the workplace, Shannen loves experimenting with recipes in her kitchen. Whether she’s stressed out or just in the mood to try something new, Shannen heads to the kitchen for some much needed R&R—baked goods included, of course.
When given the opportunity, Shannen often swaps out her chef’s hat for a baseball cap. “I LOVE watching my son play baseball and seeing the improvements he makes every season,” she says. “There’s nothing like being a loud and proud cheering baseball mama!”
In addition to being a stellar cook and a baseball enthusiast, Shannen loves nothing more than to spend time with her family. Whether she’s snuggling with her four-year-old grandson, creating new holiday memories, or camping with her husband and kids, she never takes her family time for granted. Shannen goes on to say, “At this stage in my life, I love being a daughter, sister, an aunt, a grandma, a mother and a wife! Nothing is more rewarding, and even though everything isn’t always blue skies and lolliops, I wouldn’t trade my people for anything!”
